ray & siv: engagement

Like many wedding/portrait photographers out there, I started my career by practicing on friends. Ray & Siv were the second couple that I did an engagement-like session for. Two years later, they're getting married and we had a real engagement shoot =)

Ray & Siv met at their dragon boat racing club so I knew straight away that their e-session has to involve some kind of rowing. This was a rather difficult shoot. Why? Because this silly goose shot on a boat instead of on land. Yup. Ray & Siv were in a boat and Eric and I were in another one. Trying to get the shots involved directing Ray & Siv as well as yelling at Eric to get our boat in certain position. It was not easy I tells you. At least Ray & Siv like the photos so I say it was worth the effort!

One of my fav from the boat shots. It made the cover of their guestbook.

Another favourite.

Splashing in the water. She got him good with that one!

These two are still every bit in love as much as they were when I first photographed them. Happy ever after guys =)

stacie & shaun: couple portraits

Hello and konichiwa. I'm back from my Japan trip (the snow was totally awesome btw!) and I have been working madly since the moment I got home! Wow it's been a long time since I logged on to this blogger thing but we definitely need some new photos around here.

This was a fun couple session at Garie Beach with Stacie and Shaun. These two are just so darn cute together. Seriously, there aren't that many elements in these photos so if you think the photos are good, it's 'cos Stacie and Shaun made them look good!

Oh and while I may be categorising this post under "engagements", I should make it clear that these two are not actually engaged (yet anyway!) They've been together a long time though so perhaps it is about that time hey? I dunno...just sayin' ;-)

We were lucky to get overcast weather which makes the green moss on the rocks really pop out for a nice splash of colour =)

Okiedokie I'm off to do another e-sesssion. Enjoy the weekend everybody!

van & jen: engagement

For some reason every time I think "shoot at the beach" I always imagine it to be empty. Well, not so on a Sunday arvo! It's ok, we managed to shoot around the crowd, I even had to kick this chick off the bench (that reads politely asking her btw) for the first few shots of Van and Jen here =p

Van flicking Jen's hair is quite cute =)

A lil goofing around =p

It was fun hanging out with Van and Jen and I have a feeling it'll be even more fun with their bridal party on the big day!

These are so beautiful and precious. I'm loving these beach images. You did a great job of avoiding the crowd :) (13 January 2010 01:39)
